Held Saturday, October 9 at Wynn Las Vegas, the Grand Slam featured a star‐studded lineup of performers including Bill Cosby, Sir Elton John, , Jennifer Hudson, Jason Mraz and the Canadian Tenors, under the musical direction of David Foster.
A.J. Green,ba graduate of Agassi Prep, performed an introductory song and sang a surprise duet with Academy Award‐winner Jennifer Hudson.
“I am both impressed and thankful for the tremendous support we have gotten for this milestone, the 15th Grand Slam,” Andre Agassi said. “From the incredible group of artists who gave their time and talents, to the generosity of the Genworth Financial and all of our supporters, this is a proud moment for us. The success of the event allows us to make a positive difference in student’s lives as we work to transform education.”
The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education is dedicated to transforming education. The Foundation opened the Agassi Academy in 2001 and in 2009 the public charter school graduated its first senior class, with 100 percent of graduates accepted into college. The Foundation’s work is directly impacting students in Las Vegas, Agassi’s hometown community, but it has broader implications for education nationwide.
